Our Story
Physical Media Society is a film group dedicated to showcasing classics and cult films from an analog era through screenings and events, such as vendor markets and film festivals.
Founded on friendship and failure, Marina and Edwin took it upon themselves to fight for exhibition during an uncertain time in 2024. Since then, Physical Media Society has exhibited analog physical media across Southern California – from The Palm Theatre in San Luis Obispo to co-sponsoring the 70mm Film Fest in Palm Springs in 2025.
Marina and Edwin met while working at Secret Movie Club in 2019 and have been talking about movies to each other ever since.

Our Mission
We believe in the sacred connection between man and media, hand-in-hand. In the ever-changing environment of AI and technological uncertainty, Physical Media Society doesn’t necessarily exist out of political purpose, but more so out of spite for the megaplex. We’re here to remind you (or introduce you!) to the magic of a fun, communal viewing experience and the feel-good phenomenon of experiencing beloved media physically.
Our Vision
We want to live in a world where media isn't lost to digital licensing or a cranky studio executive, so audiences having the ability to view or own works physically ensures what you love isn't tampered with. Analog media has a lifespan, so we want as many human beings to experience physical media in theaters and public spaces for as long as possible.
Through our existence and growing community, we strive to encourage modern-day filmmakers and creatives to consider outputting their works to physical media for future generations.
